E-bike version is probably made to run on DC from the battery rather than the AC of a dynamo hub, which means they aren't interchangeable.

Purely hypothetical but could you not just use a rectifier to convert AC to DC or vice versa?

I would guess a battery + rectifier like the ones used for USB charging would work a treat

I have no idea, and very limited experience with that sort of stuff. But why would you when the dynamo version is cheaper?
