on a full Campag you need a Campag headset : )
What 1"stem did you have for needing more stiff?
what is it that weighs so much to get to 8,5kg ?
no bottle cage ? -

Delivered the Cavallo Marino I have been working on to my dad yesterday after a quick test ride. Frame is really nice and the srampagnolo 10 speed mix works perfectly. He was very pleased with how it looked and will love the ride I'm sure.

Yep good idea. I had a ITM millenium and then a Deda.
For the weight, I don't know... Big steel frame ? 800g headset ? stem+handlebar ? I need to weight it correctly. -

This one quickly appears on Leboncoin, had the time to contact the seller who replied 10 days later..
Ordered by a neo-pro road racer in order to took part in track event, but it seems that he did not..
After being stocked for 23 years, it comes to my hand (in the original Concorde box)
Now I'm looking for C-rec parts to dress it up

Just recommissioned this 1991 Giant Speeder 2x7 speed.
Made out of hi-ten steel with a Shimano / Dia-Compe / Sakae mix of parts.
Fitted:
- New inner/outer cables
- New BBB fushia bar tape
- New Michelin Dynamic tyres 700c x 25mm
- New Union sealed bottom bracket 113mm
- New white Retro Rivet saddle
- Used Modolo aero brake levers with white hoods
- Used Eclat BMX pedals in turquoise
Wheels have been trued, headset has been serviced, seatpost was unstuck.
Rims are Wolber GTA Gentleman clinchers which I had not seen before.
All parts are stamped 1990, but this is a year model 1991. Originally had white bar tape, white cables and a black saddle.Maiden voyage into work today, it will need some gear adjustments but should be all good.

Just got one of these Montague Bostons as a sort of 'leave in the boot' or communte bike:
Going to remove the rear brake, cables and lever, upgrade the parts from my parts bin and lighten it up a bit.
Aiming for something like this in fixed form:

I know this isn't quite the right thread, but does anyone know if there are any cheap options for 7 or 8sp bar end shifters? Couldn't find them anywhere, all I see are 9sp. Sub 40 GBP if possible and it should have international shipping to Europe.

7/8 and 9s have the exact same indexation on SL-BS77
I have a pair available and I would prefer to find one for 10s like that 7900
I have a 7700 pair but it does not seem indexed at all! -

I missed having a simple and cheap beater bike to lock up without having to worry about it. Since I rebuilt the Bottecchia with modern parts, I had an unused Shimano LX groupset in the parts bin so I kept an eye out for a suitable frame. I wanted a frame which is cheap, light, practical and kind of cool. Yesterday I found a frame which ticked all the above boxes: 50€ shipped, lighter than my steel frames, clearance for 35c+ and mudguards and it has all the nice details of a vintage cannondale. So the plan is to transfer most of the old parts from the bottecchia and run it as a cheap 1x or to turn it into a single speed to make it a little lighter. For the cockpit I‘ll be using a long ritchey mtb stem and a set of risers. It‘ll also get a pair of sks longboards for commuting duties. I think I can build it for less than 100€ in total. Really looking forward to have a cheap bike again :)

Thanks, but I reckon Dura Ace having different pull ratios than other rear derailleurs though? Wanna use it with a 7sp XT RD-M730.

Thanks! Rubbish picture but a cool bike, I think!
He was excited to get his hands on it. CP for others > CP for yourself (sometimes).
Thanks ! I love this headset, so I'm not changing for now. If I ever change, it's for a A9 or something cool, but not CK for sure. I changed stem+compact in 26 for 31,8 because it's stiffer.
I think it is around 8,5kg (61x57,5cm). I forgot how mavic brakes are powerfull !
