I bought a wheel on the bay last week. When it arrived I realised I’d been a plonked and it was not QR. The retailer was happy for me to return at my cost but asked that I used the return option on eBay.
eBay offered the postage label which I accepted (small parcel). When I took it to the post office they rejected the wheel as small parcel is 65x45 cm and the wheel is 65cm in diameter of course. I don’t seem to be able to get a refund on the postage. Should I expect that they offer the correct postage option? If so how do I get the cost refunded? -

Sold a non bike related item during the £3 max selling fee period a week later it went down to £1.
I should have used that opportunity to get rid of a few items.. but procrastination insued.
How often do these offers come out?
Given the fees are ridiculous now eBay and PayPal. It's only worth it for me during offer periods. (10 % sellers fee and 3.4% to paypal)😲
I've only recently thought to de clutter through eBay do never paid much attention. -

acycles_shop. Didn't send the item I'd paid for, didn't answer my messages, finally sent the item after I'd opened a dispute through ebay.

Hi all -
Try and cut it short....
Sold wheels on eBay to buyer who offered not far off asking price and has Zero feedback. He did ask a cpl of Q's relating to wheels which suggests basic knowledge. His address is work address (he's away for a week) and name and (quick google) address match up to a legit company in London and him being the MD? Have done the usual and kept screenshots of msgs etc and pics of item being (and) packed and will ensure tracked courier (parcelforce) and weight on PO receipt. Whilst I would naturally lean towards being an optimist and recognising everyone on eBay one day buys something for the first time, is there any advice to further safeguard myself (if needed) and anything the buyer could potentially do (scam wise) to f*** me over, at least anything more than just costing me time and PITA? I've heard of people saying box was empty or weighed down with paper etc. Will Paypal protect me?Cheers

Could you get a courier to provide 'goods checked' receipt? i have to sign these off at work a fair bit.

Was going to send Parcel force 48 (normal wheel box size) - are there any similar price/services that provide this do you know?
Cheers for your reply/advice -

Was thinking parcelforce/dhl usually have a chit I have to sign to say I've checked the contents and they're ok, but it's normally signed by the stores folks at work and they never check owt, so it may not be watertight as a method. Might be worth a light google?

Well worth arranging with eBay to have all international bids and BINs blocked.
But yeah what an absolute dickhead
That said, he did ask to cancel in which case you can reply with no as per the eBay T&Cs you can’t cancel. Pay up.

Response to being called les incompetent was that he "...want to buy late." I think something has gotten lost in translation but anyway, told him to pay up or get an unpaid item strike.

Least he has a sense of humour
-
• #1292
yeah but if you make him buy it, he can just say it's not as described, force you to pay for the return, then nerg you after for the privilege. I'd just cancel and call him a cunt.
-
• #1293
You can’t make them buy it
-
• #1294
threatening to put a non-payment strike on them or pointing to ebay t+c's saying its not possible you kind of are tho...

Yeah sorry, work pc doesn’t let me log in on this account.
My experience of refusing to cancel sales is that you still don’t get payment but at least you’re not rolling over for a cuntbuyer.
That's what I thought, just wanted to check I hadn't missed a trick.
