I've swapped out everything except wheels and frame on one bike and they still squeal in the wet. Had new pads/brakes/rotors/skewers in varying combinations, faced the mounts and sworn at them repeatedly but they are only a bit less squealy in the wet. New wheels next month and new frame next year maybe.

Every time they squeal just shout louder at them

Beside looking ugly, is mounting post calipers onto flat-mount frame fine? £12 for adapter vs £30 for new calipers is swaying me the ugly route.

Rear often won’t fit in the triangle if it’s mounted inside. Front is no problem.

Oh, didn't even know of that. Going to check it and see, thanks for that.

Reckon this is acceptable? Quirk of internal routing with a PM caliper and FM fork.

I’m very late to this, and you have probably died from brake fade on an Italian descent, but whoever told you that Campagnolo and BB7s work well together needs taking out the back and shot.
They are shit, the different brake cable pull with Campagnolo renders BB7s utterly useless. You’ll spend more time adjusting them than you will using them and they’ll never work well.

Bit lenient.

Would a Campag road lever and a BB7 mountain caliper work or is the variance in the other direction?
-
• #5241
Eurgh!
Can you not fit a 90deg banjo thingy on there and send the hose off in kind of the right direction?
-
• #5242
A banjo is probably worth a try

Hydro cables then ? If you buy the new shimano 7000 series disk set up and want to shorten the hose lengths ? How ? I have been trp hyrd previously.

Cut hose, slide barb in and new olive. Tighten hose back in place. Squeeze lever to discover if the system needs bleeding.

Just watched a video . Seems quite straight forward . Not something you could bodge in the field though.

Looking to build up a disc frame set. Will be used as a commuter. Am new to disc brakes but want to get some hydraulics on there. What's the best budget option out there? shimano 105?

Bled my SRAM road hydros yesterday. A bit of black dirt(?) emerged at the lever end - should I be worried? Was thinking perhaps the seals or lining of the hose are degrading?
-
• #5248
That's normal. Fluid discolouring is a good sign that the bleed needs to be done.

Cool. Thanks man.

Anyone got a good online source for good quality, long, compressionless brake cables? The Jagwire extra long cables I used previously don't seem to exist any more.
new pads + rotors = howling in the rain right? It's normal? Will it go as they wear?
