  • Just to prove LFGSS predictions do not work;
    Cook to reach 33rd England ton before lunch with a 6, hooked over square leg.

  • England 293-7 at end of day.

    Cook out for 46 whilst in full flow. Wafting unnecessarily at a ball down the leg side.

    #sorrynotsorry

  • 30 odd for no loss? What?

  • it won't last ! really would like cook to get a ton

  • This, but he'll be wafting outside off stump.

    Would like to see Cook do something special on Sunday - I got tickets for my old man for Christmas.

  • I wish I wasn't too nostalgic about all of this

  • I went and stuck a score on Cook to get a ton in either innings 🤞

  • Copied from a CricInfo comment;
    ' "Cook, for his test average to finish at 45, needs 76 runs in the match with one dismissal or 121 with two dismissals (or 31, which he already has, without being dismissed)" Notable landmarks... he also, I think, needs 145 to go past Sangakkara into the all-time top five'.

  • Oh fucking hell

  • 3 quick wickets! Unless Curran has his batting head on, India could be batting tonight.

  • Fucking hell

  • Remind me again - can I take food in with me to the oval? I know I can’t take booze in like lords but a picnic?

  • yep. prepare for a steward to inspect your picnic

  • England 293-7 at end of day.

    So close, only 90 odd runs out. Oof.

    Oval no booze for England Test matches or Royal London One Day Cup. They will search you. Food is fine.

    (All other games, i.e. county stuff, you can take in up to 4 cans or a bottle of wine. When I went to one day of Surrey vs Notts the other week no-one even asked to look in my bag.)

  • Yeah I thought that was the case but their site is kind of confusing.

  • I got a couple of beers in by dodging the bag check. Easy done.

  • But if you’re seen drinking them by a steward they’d be within their rights to sling you out. More likely they’d just confiscate it but probably not worth the risk.

  • Rashid out. Can't see Broad or Anderson helping Buttler get us to 250.

  • Amazing looking performance by the tail.

  • Rashid out. Can't see Broad or Anderson helping Buttler get us to 250.

    What’s the score at lunch chum?

    I’ll admit I’m as surprised as anyone. Big fan of Buttler. Don’t need openers when your middle order is firing.

  • They don't have/need many stewards, so risk is minimal in surreptitiously decanting into the plastics provided, and there's no way they'd throw you out when they have a full day of taking your money. Worth it to avoid a couple of £5.50 Carlings!

  • Exactly. Or large opaque fizzy drink bottles filled up with lager and then the plastic security seal put back on with some deft soldering iron usage.
