Family friendly with plenty of countryside/parks close by, and walking distance to train station would be ideal with a circa 1hr or less commute to city centre by Public Transport or bike (not even going to contemplate driving in every day).
Thinking of train lines/times:
Calderdale (Tod/Hebden) 190 would get you alot of house in Todmorden.
Hope Valley / Chinley
Romiley/Disley/Whalley/Chapel etc even Buxton?
Poynton / Macclesfield

Thanks! Some of these probably look a bit far out. I reckon Glossop is about as far out of town as we'd want to go. Looking at the previous comments the Western suburbs (Old Trafford, Chorlton, Stretford etc) seem to be the popular places?
It is very different, but we could do with a change and there's much more opportunities for the kids as they grow up in Manchester than there are in rural Devon!

Also looking to move North from deepest Devon in the coming months and could do with direction on area. Currently really keen on Glossop but it's a good way out of town and wondering if it might be too far.
Any thoughts of places to look a bit closer that fit the brief? Not made of money either unfortunately so <£190k for a nice 3 bed ideally.
