That’s almost exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago - NW3, not far from you. Could be the same people. my building has an underground car park with residents only access, but somehow they got in and sawed through the metal bike rack! I had 2 D locks and a Kryptonite chain but the rack was the easiest thing to cut...

Never, ever keep a bike in an underground car park.
Ask me how I know...

It’s a tough lesson to learn. The bike lived in my bedroom for the last 2 years.

My son is a newly installed PCSO... today, he's helping a normal copper and they've just caught a bike thief, recovered the bike and are booking him in in custody as I type!
I've told him to help him fall down some stairs.... -

Unfortunately the buyer not the thief will be the one you will probably be able to track down (edit- with bike) by purchasing something from them and going to their home address.
Would serve them right. -

Seller looks like a family man from SE1.

Always wondered what happened to my stolen bike and if they ever managed to get the wheels off as I was using Hexlox at the time.

Some bell-end nicked my mountain bike (GT Sanction) from my garage last Saturday night, 8th Sept. Near Victoria Park, Hackney, London. So keep your eyes peeled... it may appear built or as separate parts for sale - the whole thing was in pieces in my garage while I resprayed the frame that day. They took the lot.
The pic has been badly photoshopped to grey, as that’s the colour it now is, halfway through its sprayjob. Keep yer eyes peeled for something built up like this.
They must be planning on a rebuild as they returned the following night and nicked my f*cking workstand and tools! Luckily I’d moved all the other bikes that where locked in the garage, into the flat, so they were safe.... I recon they were coming back for those. However, it was completely in pieces - pivots, bushings, BB, gears brakes everything off for a full strip and rebuild. I doubt the thieving toe-rag(s) are gonna have a clue how to rebuild it, or the tools.
GT Sanction, size large. Matt grey. No stickers (i had new ones to apply post spraying :( )
Rock Shox Lyric 170mm Boost Forks
Rock Shox Monarch Plus Debonair rear shock
DT Swiss M1700 wheels
Full SRAM Eagle X01 (1x12) group set
SRAM Guide Ultimate brakes
DMR pedals
Flite Ti seat
Spank bars and stemI don’t hold out much hope of seeing it again. But worth a punt sharing on here.

Some wheels got stolen 6 months ago in London, including a pair of Campagnolo Shamal Track wrapped in carbon tape.

We have noticed an increase of stolen bike sightings on Facebook marketplace.
On top of other online sites -boot sale style apps and the sites covered by bikeshd.co.uk.

So, this looks sketchy as fuck... I guess it's a long shot to ask if anyone is missing a rear wheel, but does anyone know if there's anything that can be done to flag it? According to eBay, I'd have to be the police to report it as stolen (I mean, I can't be certain either, but it doesn't exactly look kosher)
No idea but the police sent me a link to this site where they think stolen bikes turn up. Not sure if it was a joke tbh.
