Kick off is 10am at Tilehurst Station, you'll need to get a train from Paddington shortly after 9am for that. Happy to go slightly later if anyone really can't get there that early.
I'll put the route up shortly, sorry for the slightly scarce details so far! -
• #30
either pub or cooking out, I'm easy either way
-
• #31
is there a route yet?
is there a camp spot yet?
how much riding is planned for sunday? -
• #32
I'm finalising the route, will go up tomorrow. a few spots for wild camping depending on our pace.
sunday is the same amount of riding as saturday, 50-60km. if you need to go early there will be easy bail points -
• #33
thanks! definitely hoping to join at some point.

Pub I reckon, less stuff to carry and it also will mean we're not sitting about during mozzie hour

OK, here's the draft route. I will probably add or subtract a few small things, but this is where we're going.

Nice! I know the ridgeway and have ridden the stretch of the route down into Streatley but otherwise is all to discover!
cooking out more fun maybe but for 6 might be a mission - also gonna be carrying a good few beers by the end of the day so..

Good stuff, roughly where might the camping be? I'm likely not to be free until early evening but know the area well enough to come meet.
-
• #42
I may be in the same boat, and I'm local too, perhaps we could ride to the camping together?
-
• #43
Yeah for sure. I'm Caversham way.

I intend to pack light, thanks to the offer of a shared shelter: meths stove, pot, food etc and bivi bag and sleeping bag. Plus a few extra clothes and the normal tools. What’s everyone else doing?
-
• #45
bivvy and tarp, sleeping bag and ground mat, gas stove, dry clothes,
coffee, porridge, pot, usual tools -
• #46
Tent if chance of rain >0%.
Gas stove, small pot, instant black coffee and tea to share.
Up for pub dinner (lunch too?) so other food going to be no-cook snacks.Nights are getting colder so longsleeve, leggings, puffy jacket with hood, warm socks, gloves.
And good vibes:)

same as spotter; but without the stove, buff, sleeping thermals, and bag liner
-
• #49
stove, buff, sleeping thermals, and bag liner
FYI Buff doubles up as my eye mask. Also summer bag + liner + thermals packs smaller than my cold weather bag.
