According to the RPC fb page the rider is in hospital.

No, but it must have been less than a minute ahead of me as policeman was just arriving.

This seems to be the Standard's report:

Police seeking witnesses.

Is there any news on this poor chap? I was doing laps while I think they were finishing up with his treatment before they put him in the air ambulance. It did look very bad.

The discussion on the RPC FB group has been nuked but the guy's brother had said to a member he had had surgery that day and was recovering.

There is a follow up on this story in today's Evening Standard; Hiroki Takeuchi ended up paralyzed from chest down but made a pretty remarkable recovery to return to work as CEO of GoCardless
Techcrunch interview with him here from last year

I remember cycling past the aftermath of this. Glad to read that he is making the most of what was obviously a terrible situation. He is inspirational.

Why in this thread?
Bad crash at the pinch point / crossing just before US Ambassadors going south; rider had gone through the rear window of a hatchback at about 7.45 am. The armed police were treating him and road closed to traffic soon after. He was conscious at least but his face/head had taken a heavy hit.
