Definitely agree, you barely see anything like that in the Lyon area, most interesting ads are often 1hr away at least..
Your story reminds me, a few years ago I got really lucky while I was in the Drome region and managed to get a colnago master in full croce d'aune for 45€.. within 10 mins the guy was getting ridiculous offers from everywhere but since I was there with the money, he let it go saying people were crazy.ps: Are you in Lyon? I see both ads are in the Rhone-Alpes region.. ;)

Exactly. Much less choice and general volume of sales than in Paris (or even Lyon), but equally more chance of a proper bargain.
I'm oddly tempted by this mean chopper-style old tandem for 300€, but, storage space, getting it on the back of the car... and the fact that I'd probably never get around to restoring and using it...
