I am getting a 404 error from the address for the early sign up. Does the "ms-of-entry" need to be swapped out with some info?
Cheers -

From memory there is the word ‘dot’ that needs replacing with a dot (full stop or ‘period’).

I've just arrived from the CAT700 event in spain, and without even recovered the feeling in my toes, I've already signed up for the TNR... ahahahah...
CAT700 has been an amazing preparation for TNR ... 650kms and 13000+ offroad from de Pyrenees to the Delta del Ebro in the Mediterranean... amazing route...reallly!!! -

They’ve only gone and found Conor Dunne’s missing flip-flops!

..and then left them in the thrash metal campsite near Stroppo as we had no idea whose they were until a few days later! Still, they kept Biff's feet dry as he paddled around a frosty bivi spot on the col d'Izoard.

Thanks

Registration is now open. No entry fee as usual but there is a roof of 160 riders.
You enter by sending a physical postcard and then you're in a draw :)https://torino-nice.weebly.com/
It's just an organized ride but i can understand the decision of setting some sort of limit
to the amount of riders allowed to keep the event under the radar.Still haven't managed to get my butt down to any previous editions but might this year.
Anyone else? -

Did it on the impulse of a friend last year (that is 2018) but two weeks after everybody else. We started by riding from Paris to Turin for good measure and the whole thing took us two weeks. Easily and by far the best thing I've ever done on a bike and highly ranked on the list of life experiences in general as well. Do it!

Agreed on one of the best rides ever done.
Might ride it again this year, but in the middle of the summer and with a more relaxed/touring mindset. The places and views are just too good. -

How long do you reckon it'd take at a more relaxed pace? I might try to squeeze in a solo-non-race version if I have time.
-

One week was a good duration for us. We took the short version for the last day but apart from that more or less stuck to the route.

Sounds good then assuming I can get my lazy arse into gear and ride my bike a bit in the next couple of months. Getting home from Nice might be a challenge now the night train has been killed off though.

It depends how much you want to soak it in, how many pics, beers and the level of wandering off you want to do. I've done it in a week, but would love to do it in twice as long (stopping one or two days in La Brigue, loved that place).
The logistics that come with the route can be constraining in a way that you still have to do a given amount of km every day, unless you fancy camping atop a windy pass.

La Brigue was great, such a difference from feeling so 'remote' for the past day or so.
Agreed on great route, did it as a group of 3 over 7 days:

Pretty much the right balance between hard riding and good experience personally. Each day was satisfyingly tough but no major meltdowns.

Yeah we took the plane back to London, it's very close to the city center and you can get a bike cardboard box direct from the airport for the princely sum of €20 (but it's there and convenient).
Poor guys sitting next to us!
We had an outline of what we wanted to do each day and the area where we'd like to bivy. We did a mix of wild camping and proper camping and I had an hotel night in Briançon when I found myself stretched out at the front and with a developing cold. But it could have been adapted depending on how we were doing etc.

SNCF used to run a night train from Nice to Metz which is a few hours flat ride from here which would have been great but the bastards stopped it a year or two ago.

Just cycle back into Italy and link the TNR to the Tuscany Trail

Might have to do it earlier during vacation in august. Also planning on taking a few days longer (~10 days). If anyone else have the same plans and wanna link up that'd be fun. I'd be doing it solo otherwise.

I guess it’s off season while maintaining good chances of a fair weather ? At any rate we had an amazing weather over the two weeks but we were probably quite lucky as well.
The waters of Léman were so warm, it was incredible.
Aye, signed up 😀
