Found a 1996 catalog on Retrobike and the L stands for a longer toptube.

Yes, that is true but only for the larger frames it seems if you follow the catalog numbers.
The 56 frames are then seen as 56/56.
58cm and above are half a cm longer.

Tell us how does it ride? ;)

I also wonder if the CII I had was a later model than I stated in the classified ad?
I found the serial number thing after the fact. :)

Like a dream. Really. It doesn't have the aggressive feel of my Colnago Master Extra Light (probably because it has a slightly longer wheelbase and longer chainstay) but it moves straight forward when you push the pedals. Don't think I will sell this one. ;)

Now that it's build up I regret I didn't buy it when I had the opportunity :) I'm sure riding it will be a pure hedonistic experience for you, enjoy.
Also it'd look ace with carbon Time forks you have I believe

It also corners like a train.

Yes, like the Time on it too but need to have the steerer lengthened. Will replace the original Kinesis forks as I don't feel safe on them...

• #363
Congrats :) did you build it ?

I bought it from Lincoln, hence full Chorus inc. now discontinued CX crankset, and (he was at great pains to point out) genuine, made in Italy Campag Canti's - not re-badged Tektro etc.

I'll guide all you Serotta riders on a ride across the Liège-Bastogne-Liège hills. Or the Tour of Flanders cobbles and "bergs". Exquise selection of Trappist beers included. ;)
-
• #374
don't jest - i could be well up for that with a bit of planning and time off vouchers

Always prepared to guide you around (and drink Trappist). I was born on one of the Flemish bergs and the Spa region (where the nicest climbs from L-B-L are situated) is my second home. :)
Serial number?
Thanks @Tijs & @WimVDD.
