without any actual data, my 30mm g-ones on my hed belgium+ rims seem to be approximate to gp4000IIs 28mm if I perform the eye-test (in terms of width)

When I posted the question the website where I usually purchase parts I did not see them but just a few hours/a day after they had in stock the new Veloflex Masters in 28C.
I tried a continental tire in 28C before but it didn't fit my fork but the masters that I had in 25C seemed quite narrow (not measured though) so I stuck with the masters BUT I tried my luck purchasing a pair of Masters in 28C... and they fit the fork!!! (tight clearance - but clearance still!) Really stocked about that ; I mounted them tonight and will give it a try for my commute tomorrow morning -

Is that on one set/how many back tyres have you been through?
-
• #5758
Second set but put the current set on at different times. Front lasted for 7500km, rear lasted for 5000km.

Anyone seen the new Gravel King colourways for sale anywhere? Am oddly tempted by them.

Getting GP4Ks onto my Prime carbon rims at home is a bloody nightmare - getting them on at the roadside might not even be possible.
Can anyone recommend a similar tyre that has a more flexible/larger diameter bead? Or has anyone got Prime rims and has a decent tyre that they can get on and off easily enough?

They'll stretch

• #5762
Awful. No doubt they'll be everywhere in a year's time.

Better act fast, those are limited items.

Schwalbe G One all round 40c vs GK SK 38c (measures slightly larger)
G One - faster, quieter, smoother, better cornering on tarmac (better all round on road)
GK SK - louder, feels slightly slower, more buzz, performance off road better - bit better in dry, quite a bit better in wet.
Will try out some different pressures on the G Ones, might be a sweet spot - was running them harder than the SK because they felt a bit squirmy at lower pressure.
Makes sense really, and is what I expected, based on their tread patterns.

Have recently build up a fairly budget New groupset/old frame style geared bike for commuting, and need some new tyres. I've been running some old Vittoria Zaffiro pro's on it for the last few weeks but they a pain in the arse to mount, and I've managed to get 3 punctures since fitting them, so I think it's time for a new set of tyres. I'm looking for something fairly robust and puncture proof but also fairly fast rolling and not to heavy. Sort of an all-round tyre. 700c 25/28's should fit and If they could be gum wall that would be nice as it would suit the bike. Wheels are old fulcrum 5's (2008 edition I think?) Any suggestions anyone?

I would recommend ribmo folding. Roll great, decent enough grip, mega tough, light, last forever, not expensive. No gumwall but yeah...

New Rubio Pros. They're cheap and roll way nicer than their price work indicate. I've commuted on them for ages without issue and even use a pair on my Sunday bike.

Michelin pro4 endurance are super nice
-
• #5769
The G+ Graphene ones you mean?
-
• #5770
Yeah
-
• #5771
Schwalbe Durano aren’t bad. They’re tough but aren’t as supple as (old, non-‘G’) Rubino Pros. Fit the biggest size you can.

Michelin pro4 endurance are super nice
No they're not.
GP4000s for the win.
-
• #5773
Huh, yes they are.
-
• #5774
Really? GP 4000 for commuting? The Michelin are almost as fast and way more durable
-
• #5775
Use both GP4000s and the Michelin Endurance... deffo the Michelin for the commuter, no issue using them on the odd bit of gravel either.
Well, I have done over 10,000km on them in all weathers and I have never once crashed or lost any grip. But obviously YMMV.
