  • Have recently build up a fairly budget New groupset/old frame style geared bike for commuting, and need some new tyres. I've been running some old Vittoria Zaffiro pro's on it for the last few weeks but they a pain in the arse to mount, and I've managed to get 3 punctures since fitting them, so I think it's time for a new set of tyres. I'm looking for something fairly robust and puncture proof but also fairly fast rolling and not to heavy. Sort of an all-round tyre. 700c 25/28's should fit and If they could be gum wall that would be nice as it would suit the bike. Wheels are old fulcrum 5's (2008 edition I think?) Any suggestions anyone?

  • I would recommend ribmo folding. Roll great, decent enough grip, mega tough, light, last forever, not expensive. No gumwall but yeah...

  • New Rubio Pros. They're cheap and roll way nicer than their price work indicate. I've commuted on them for ages without issue and even use a pair on my Sunday bike.

  • Michelin pro4 endurance are super nice

  • Schwalbe Durano aren’t bad. They’re tough but aren’t as supple as (old, non-‘G’) Rubino Pros. Fit the biggest size you can.
