  • Anything I guess. Got a lot of catching up to do.

  • Don’t start wirh games above or you’ll get hooked and won’t play anything else (my case).

    :(((

  • Tanked the Four kings (after 7 years of trying)
    Havel's armour
    So hyped
    @branwen
    @DethBeard

  • For RPGs:
    Witcher III
    Fallout 4
(Maybe Kingdom Come Deliverance, I think it's a great game but read some reviews)

  • +1 for Fallout 4.
This winter I'm going to sink some hours into that game again, start a fresh and get immersed, and all the Metros.
Bought Scum too, when we hitting it BRO's? @CYOA @Vesalius et al

  • Nice one.
I've had minimal success with DkS1 in the past, haven't got the remastered yet, waiting for Switch version.

  • Took a few years, but I finally got my hands on a mint condition copy of wipEout 2097. Found one in Denmark. (I still curse my friend for sitting on my original copy. Have had to go thru several from different eBay sellers to piece together something that looks new.)

Any justice in the world, the soundtrack should be found in Cyberpunk 2077, too. Still the best.

  • Whenever I finish this ridiculous edit.

And when I get paid by the myriad clients that owe me basically half my mortgage rn.

    Anticipating 2035?

  • So is that Sat or Sun?

  • Weirdly September 8th and 9th 2035 are, like this year, Saturday and Sunday.

    I'll send a calendar invite.

  • Dark Souls (1 or 3 I'd recommend) for masochist gaming.

Fallout 4 for RPG time sinks

Doom (2016) for FPS shooting (solo play, the PVP bit was lacking)

  • Dark Souls (1 or 3 I'd recommend) for masochist gaming.

    Masochist? More like educational games.
Die and learn... then die again

  • And get annoyed, keep going.
Think you have finally "git gud", die.

    Repeat.

  • Here's ones that have stood out for me from the last 2 or 3 years.

    Wolfenstein, any new one.
    Witcher 3,
    Doom,
    Xcom2,
    Rainbow Six Seige,
    Hitman 2,
    Final Fantasy xv,
Dragonball Fighter Z (if you like arcade fighters),
    Rise Of The Tomb Raider,
    Uncharted 4,
    Alien Isolation,
    Prey,
    Skyrim,
    Dark Souls (any),
    Dota 2,
    Rocket League,
    Nioh,
    PubG,
    Bioshock Infinite,
    Overwatch,
    Dishonored / Dishonored 2

    More arcadey:
    Ruiner,
    Faster Than Light,
    Cuphead,
    Axiom Verge

  • I've hardly played ANY games in the past few years.

Apart from 1000 hours of PUBG obvs.

But no diversity. From that list I've played:
    Witcher 3
    Doom
    Rise of the Tomb Raider
    Alien Isolation
    Skyrim
    Pubg
    Dishonoured (1, I don't recall playing 2)

Most of which I've loved except maybe Dishonoured which I made me feel a bit like I did when I played the Bioshock series - I get it, it's impressive, fun, I kinda like it, but it's not my first choice. See also Doom.

  • Only ever played some of one of the recent Wolfenstein's with @spotter - again, looked very fun but for some reason (like Rainbox Six) I just can't imagine choosing to buy it.

  • It depends what kind of games you like really. I've gone a bit off single player shooting/action games, but Dishonored really impressed me. These days I'm mostly just playing Rainbow Six cos a match is over in 10 minutes so there's no massive time commitment. I'm pretty ambivalent about Skyrim but I've put a couple hundred hours into it so it must be doing something right.
I'd say the game that's held my attention most in the last couple of years is Horizon Zero Dawn, but it's only on PS4. Cuphead is really impressive but I don't have the patience for constant failure. See also Dark Souls.

  • I got a PS4 a while ago after a loooong break from playing any video games at all (my last console was a PS1) so have been playing catch up on lots of stuff from the last few years. The standouts have mostly been PS4 exclusives like the Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, any of the Uncharted series. Other standouts for any platform have been Limbo, Inside, Journey, Dishonoured, The Division, Wolfenstein- all very different but good depending on what you're in the mood for.

The only game I was expecting to like but haven't is Far Cry 4, not exactly sure why but I found it really infuriating to play. It's kinda put me off getting 5 which is a shame because it looks ace.

  • Xcom2

anyone that hasn't played this is a fool. A DAMN FOOL I SAY!

  • Yes to this and @sumo

There's something tempting about a PlayStation but I've literally never owned a console of any kind and figure I'd just wait for next gen (I say this every time...)

But Horizon Zero Dawn and Last of Us (especially this actually) are big on my hit list. See also Red Dead - though I understand there'll be a PC version of the latter. I wonder if Last of Us will be back compatible with a PS5 (didn't it take a while for the PS4 version to come out?)

I usually play the Far Cry series but generally a few years after the fact, so I haven't yet gotten around to FC5.

I'd say the only two games I'm super interested in are Bannerlord (long term Mount & Blade sufferer) and then Ancient Cities.

  • Far cry games haven't been worth playing since 3

  • The Last of Us actually lived up to the hype for me. As did Horizon for that matter. Well worth a look.

  • Even 5? : (

Agree btw. Completing Primal the other month was a real grind.

  • Blood Dragon or GTFO
