Consider the above tutorial. I would suggest doing what spotter says by mounting underneath but using the above cable tie technique. No residue/ mess and guaranteed not to fail.
I know the 3M stickies are really strong, but mounted underneath with the full gopro's weight pulling on it, security would weigh on my mind.
i want to mount a gopro to the front of this rack
There is a dynamo light attached to the small mounting part at the front.
I have a mount
but it won't clamp any of the rails on the rack. I tried to wrap an old inner tube round part of it to give it a bigger diameter but it didn't really work.
Suggestions? @M_V suggested some tubing attached with some hose clamps and then attach the go pro to that.
