Is isinglass used as much for clearing wine as it is for clearing beer? I thought that other non-fish substances (e.g., other kinds of gelatine) are used more for wine. Not that it matters that much, but I always thought that the clearing substances were generally waste products from other nearby industries, e.g. Britain has lots of breweries on the coast, a long coastline, and a (formerly?) large fishing industry, versus (Continental) wine production often being very far inland.
Yea. Fish are apparently needed to filter wine through.
