But in layman's terms it's a high quality consumer espresso machine fitted with a smart digital temperature gauge that's then wired in to boiler element control in the place of a thermo switch. The digital gauge is both more accurate and faster to react than a thermo switch and is also able to 'learn' patterns of throttling the heating element to maintain a constant water temperature whilst pulling a shot.
