Got the same dilemma, after comparing the ridiculous prices just decided to hunt for cranks on eBay

This is the cheapest I've found. The look is pretty loud though, and I'm not convinced I'd enjoy oval rings. If you find some with compact rings and want standard, I'll swap. I bought some cranks with standard.

I've got compact too, gearing on the GT is a bit absurd now that I have a dedicated roadie. You can have my semi-compact rings if there's any life on them

My DOVALs disintegrated after about 500km.
