You would be amazed at how much I have to fight for a realistic fee when doing pro bikes. They are paying for
The PR it generates for sponsors more than for a fancy bike for one of their riders.

They are also normally paid for by the bike sponsor, not the Team.

You're right, I've seen more of that bike than any other Madison Genesis since they stopped riding steel.
