They actually do one of those already (at typically stupid Garmin prices)

But that's not a bad idea, especially if the Quadlock out-front mount isn't long enough.

Much cheaper versions:

But remember, you're hanging up to £500 worth of mobile phone off the handlebars with these things so sometimes ££ ain't everything...

Just get a Quadlock.
I bought one used for about £20 or £30 then sold it on a year or so later for about the same.
The rubber band things will be fine and if you really want, you can use zip ties instead.

I did this using Otterbox stupid belt clip. Obviously it requires an Otterbox case.

Another recommendation for quad lock. Used on the bike plenty and even on the motorbike with no fairings at 3 digit mph and it didn’t come off.

https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BAVINLB025/vincita-bikepacking-frame-bag-large-b025
Sorely tempted by this, looks like it'd just about fit in both my MTB and touring/gravel/whatever thing. Anyone got one?
Dimensions here:
https://www.vincita.co.th/products/b025-frame-for-bikepacking- Width 48 cm / 51 cm
- Depth 6 cm
- Height 31 cm
- Weight 550 grams
Assuming it's a right angle in that corner it'll be 60cm along DT section.

Used my Topeak kit for the first time on the weekend, pretty pleased with it! The bar harness was fitted as per the instructions but it means the dry bag will rub against the frame. Will fit it the other way round for future rides. Need to think about a framebag and accessory pouch for the camera next.

That seems pretty decent! The only thing might be there aren't any zipper garages.
-
• #4711
Yeah, that sort of thing as well as overall quality of construction would be my only concerns. Might go for it anyway! Can always stitch bits on/repair it I guess

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts if you do.

A couple of days late but another solid recommendation for Quadlock from me. I've got one of the older ones, just looks slightly different, but I had it on a previous (waterproof - I agree, @hippy) phone, then had to slice it off which was quite an effort, and used Araldite to stick it to the back of my new phone (Moto G3, awesome and waterproof). It's survived years of commuting, a few tours and a number of days bone-shaking mtb so I have total faith in it. Not sure if I'll be able to use it on another phone some time in the future or if I'll need to buy another...!

Has anything tried the Ortlieb bikepacking... Err. panniers?

I bought some of the 3M VHB squares so in theory should be able to slice it off and refit it to other devices/cases as long as you both shall live...
I've reused one of the v1 mounts (square) but haven't yet redone a v2 (larger, oblong).

Don’t know, looks like Ortlieb have just figured out how to sell you less bag for the same amount of money.

Sounds like most things in cycling then! :)
Could work well on my gfs bike, no room for bags and need to keep it light.
edit: Have found them elsewhere for a similar price to the Front roller range. -

So did my MTB bike packing trip and the quadlock mount held up a treat, came off the bike 6 times, twice over the handle bars and the mount held is still like new, however, the case that I chose was myabe not the best choice as on my biggest spill it popped my phone out of the case, decided to remove the phone from the mount for all major down hill sections after that (although saying that it has survived the rattle of quite fast runs down rocky steep slopes)

Otterbox is pretty good when you're throwing a phone around the place, I cut a quadlock sized hole in the rubber for mine and it works well.
-
• #4720
Top Tip, thankfully the phone survived with only a few scrapes, as did I!

This company sells quite a few different mounting options: https://www.76projects.com/shop/
