Sure, the PID does look a bit mental to be fair! But it actually makes it easier to pull good shots (one of the reason I installed it).
There's literally one button to 'go'
It pre-infuses for a few seconds which pre-wets the coffee
Then pulls the shot (25 seconds I think I set it to)
Then it stops when the countdown timer is done.

If you want to steam milk, flick one of the big switches to let it raise the boiler temp for a few seconds then you're good to go
Maintenance is easy, you just need descale it with solution once every few months to clean the inside of the boiler.
I'm actually up in Manchester this weekend but back Sunday evening if you want to come and check it out.
