  • Watched that on the Eurostar back from Paris, really made me hungry to do some touring over the winter. Looks like despite the weather they had an absolute blast!

  • I also shared that with my cousin and his wife. They're into gravel/bikepack touring in their home in Oregon and desperately want to tour Scotland by bike - huge thumbs up from them for the videos. Wales is now on their list too.

  • Little tour around the Welsh coast last week, loved it.

    • Two go fourth in first.png
  • Nice, wild camping or hostels or mix of both?

  • Hammocks and tarp, although we spent one night at a friends at 1.5 and a night in a hostel after an afternoon of heavy rain at 3.5. So two nights under a roof three nights under a tarp

  • Looks great. Photos of landscapes please.

  • We original planned it as a threesome but one guy's company broke down so he joined us at 2/3 complete in Aberystwyth which was a shame. Route was so much more ups and downs than any of us expected, cycle route 4 was an absolute beauty.

    Pretty photos:

  • Nice photos. Looks great indeed.

  • My other half can't get any bags on her small frame, except the front. I'd like to her to be able to carry at least some kit on a mini tour :) but want to keep it light, so front pannier bags on the back could be the answer.

Has anyone tried the new (cringe named) Ortlieb Bikepacker Gravel pack panniers?

    1160g per pair

A bit spendy , also see that Alpkit do the Toliari 5/12 options which could be good too.

  • Great little trip over the last 2 weeks.

  • Is there a design difference in front and rear panniers or can I use them interchangeably?

  • Is there a design difference in front and rear panniers or can I use them interchangeably?

Rears are bigger? I use rear ones (Ortlieb) on the front. #fckthepolice

  • Looks awesome, how far were you covering each day and are those gravel or road tyres? Can you give me the name of that saddlebag too please?

  • We covered around 100km with 7000ft of climbing each day. It was pretty tough going most days.

Panracer Gravelking tyres, no tread but still for gravel I guess.

The Saddlebag is just an Alp kit dry bag with straps, I'm sure it cost £5!

  • Are there any wider sleeping mats out there? Not as wide as a double, just that bit wider, either inflatable or non.

  • There’s plenty of mattresses that are 60-65cm. Just look for the wide or xl versions

  • Cyprus - any must do dirt roads?

Will be starting in the west mid-October for just a week but any recommendations appreciated. Seems most things are dirt off the main roads though so probably just end up exploring.

  • I am planning to cycle around Cyprus in January, please make a report here after you come back.

  • A few photos from a recent trip to Scotland.

  • We did Inverness to Glasgow mainly following the Badger Divide route.
I can highly recommend it. The riding was tough in places but always beautiful and the vast majority is off road.
