I’m very late to this, and you have probably died from brake fade on an Italian descent, but whoever told you that Campagnolo and BB7s work well together needs taking out the back and shot.
They are shit, the different brake cable pull with Campagnolo renders BB7s utterly useless. You’ll spend more time adjusting them than you will using them and they’ll never work well.

And I read on the interwebz campagnolo ergos and mechanical discs should work a treat..
I'll throw some more money to the problem and buy a single bb7 to see if it at least solves the braking up front.
If not then I'll throw on a 180mm front.
