I sold my 5d3 and lenses/flash gear to them a while ago. Probably 2014? Got a fairly decent price. Free collection etc (though I was in Brighton at the time so actually just walked over and dropped off) Took a while to get paid but got it eventually. Haven't part exchanged though but presume similar process.

They offered me a shit price for a lense I was wanting to trade in against something that had that was top dollar. I avoided.

Buy low sell high. Duh.
-
• #1306
Course, but they money they were offering was laughable.

No I know, only messing. I never use services like that because it’s the same anywhere. In the same way CEX will give you half of whatever they’ll sell the item for. I mean, yeah, I know you have to make a profit but jeez. I once looked at selling an iPhone to them. Buy for £200, sell for £400. Do one.

Have you done something with your hair?

Has anyone used https://www.mpb.com/ for part-exchanging camera equipment? Any tips or caveats?
There's a thread on another forum where people are complaining about increased turn around times for traded items.
Buying from them still seems to be ok, bought something last week and it arrived the next day -

Word on the street is that Canon will announce a ff alongside a few lenses like 50mm f1.2 L and 28-70mm f2 L on 5th September. Swoooosh

Where are all these newly cheap Nikon d750s then? Has Nikon overpriced so the Z6 and Z7 so much that no one is buying them?
-
• #1314
Apparently selling like hot cakes on pre-order (according to Nikon....)
I think they are overpriced. The Z6 matches the specs of the Sony A7ii but selling it for the same price as the A7iii

Have you used Op/Tech before? It is highly regarded.
I have put my Leicas among other things in these pouches. They are great for what they are intended - basic protection from scratching against things. I’ve also used their straps, that were some of the best available for a long time.

It is highly regarded.
I'm sure it is.

I've used them too. Very good pouches. Although Leica M case from Leica has no buttons that could scratch anything. It's just a piece of neoprene sewn into a shape that holds the camera without it being exposed or able to escape on it's own. It's also thicker than most of the Op/Tech I've used.

Lens compatibility; is there any way I'll be able to use a Canon FD 50mm on a Pentax LX body? Do adaptors exist? Not obvious from googling
-
• #1319
Just buy a Pentax 50mm for a few bucks, they're awesome, even the cheap f1.7 one!
-
• #1320
More that I have a spare 50mm fd and my friends pentax one broke. Was hoping thered be a cheap adaptor but looks like youre right
-
• #1321
Maybe there is an adapter, but in general the cheap ones are shit, and for the price of a proper one you can get the 50/1.7 on eBay I guess, they're really underrated and there's lots of them out there so easy to get cheap..

• #1324
You're welcome.
The eBay one you linked to looks good as well..

From memory canon FD film flange distance is shorter than k mount so if you do use it an adaptor (which doesn't have an extra lens element) it won't focus to infinity.
These are the days, huh.. where people jam Leica M8's in some $11.95 pouch and throw them into their bagpacks "with keys and other random bag shit".
