One of the greatest things on this forum is that there's an ignore feature.... So unfortunately this is the last time I will witness you embarrassing yourself.
Oh and try to calm down a bit. Life's much nicer when you don't behave like a cunt

Contrast the reaction of Jeremy Corbyn with his deputy Tom Watson.
In a 12-word, one-sentence reaction, Mr Corbyn did not devote a single syllable to expressing regret at Mr Field's departure.
Mr Watson described Mr Field's announcement as a "serious loss" which reflected "deep divisions," a "sense of drift" and should act as a "major wake-up call."

There was much merriment and some drink, with me becoming, as my mother commentated later, a little squiffy.
Squiffy? SQUIFFY?

Racism can be nuanced and sometimes only picked up by those it is directed at
Got some examples to demonstrate this?

Not a Corbyn fan but you directly calling him an anti Semite makes you look a fool, along with quite a few of your other assertions in here. Anyway see you at polo some time.

• #2586
Agreed. Either a troll or a fool...
-
• #2587
He's neither.

• #2588
Not a troll, different viewpoint I guess.

• #2589
Well that is the impression that is given...

Surprised to hear that from you Olly. You may not agree with it but I am very far from alone in seeing Corbyn as an anti semite. I know a number of people, (not Jews) who have resigned their membership of the Labour Party after these recent comments on 'Zionists' not understanding English irony have come to light because they feel that he is an anti semite. I also know a large amount of Jews and there is only one (fully paid Corbyn fan) who doesn't think he is an anti semite.
You may not agree (and it baffles me as to why not) with that statement but don't call me a fool for thinking it or seeing it as such. As said earlier in this thread, 'Racism can be nuanced and sometimes only picked up by those it is directed at' and maybe this goes some way to explaining why literally 99% of the UK Jewish community feel threatened by Corbyn's anti semitism, and therefore cannot stop talking about it and arguing about it, because it is racism directly aimed at us, yet his supporters blithely shrug off these views as if they (and therefore, we) are unimportant.
And no @smiff not a troll. This stuff is hugely important to me, though clearly not to most of you lot and I feel its important to challenge these appalling views. It says alot about you that your only explanation is trolling or idiocy. That is one of the sad byproducts of all of this, that many people will not stand by us when we feel threatened and with our recent history, that is of course deeply concerning.

^^ It would probably be better to try to poke holes in Punkture's assertions, rather than the person themselves, don't you think? We might learn something.
Unintentional pun is unintentional.

Would love to chat in person about this because it is doing my head in and I just can't understand your viewpoint.
As per my prior post "Racism can be nuanced and sometimes only picked up by those it is directed at" is a statement I have trouble with, all for empowering victims but people do take offense where none is given.
Question for you- in what way do you feel threatened, and what recent history are you alluding to?
Lastly please edit my name, we have screen names on here for a reason.

Holes have been repeatedly shown, but yeah.

I thought Corbyn was a Kremlin spy? Is that not the case now?

I get it, but I’m sick to the fucking teeth of people deliberately taking Corbyn’s (and others) perfectly legitimate and longstanding support for Palestine and criticism of the appalling behaviour of the Israeli state and calling it anti-semitism. It’s nothing more than a targeted attack. It’s no surprise that the Labour MP’s like Field and Hodge are on the right of the party, and are using to engineer another leadership battle, at a time when the Tories are all over the shop over Brexit and currently sitting ducks.
Anti-semitism is a real issue, and it does the cause no good whatsoever when people use it just to score cheap political points and will eventually devalue it. For me, I have no doubt whatsoever that Corbyn is not an anti-Semite in any way, and I’d have no more to do with the party if I thought he was. I fucking despise racism and anti-semitism and have been involved in left wing politics since I was about 17 when Thatcher came into office, and it really fucks me off that this shit is happening when we have the best possible chance of a decent socialist Labour Party for about 30 years.
Oh, and though I probably shouldn’t have told punkture to fuck off last night, he’s been pedalling the same shit for weeks now. Seeing as he blocked me and can’t read my reply, can one of you lot call him a cunt back for me? Ta.

Recent history would be all that Nazi stuff I imagine, something that's fucking horrific for anyone to think about but must be so much worse when you might have Grandparents who were likely affected personally by it.
Whilst all that should never be forgotten or belittled, is something that won't be repeated by the Labour Party, it has problems with antisemitism, but those problems are not, and will not be policies that are directly racist. As a party its aims and ideals are anti-racist, even if it doesn't pull that off across the board fully in practice at all times. -

Even if Corbyn was an antisemite, which he isn't, the accusations get lost among all the other things he's accused of being while obviously not being, such as an IRA stooge, terrorists sympathiser communist spy etc.

Seeing as he blocked me and can’t read my reply, can one of you lot call him a cunt back for me? Ta.
Is that possible if he's blocked you?

He didn’t call you a cunt. He said you were behaving like one.

Yeah, but that wouldn't be very 'on here'.
this goes some way to explaining why literally 99% of the UK Jewish community feel threatened by Corbyn's anti semitism,
Would be interesting to see actual opinion polling on the issue. Though I do see that you've used "literally" right in front of the "99%".
To be frank, I've seen and heard conflicting responses from members of the Jewish community.
yet his supporters blithely shrug off these views as if they (and therefore, we) are unimportant.
Yet this is not my experience. I've found the majority of the Labour party and broader left and liberal circles are aware, and concerned about AS in communities in general. I do see genuine frustration from the Jewish Labour community for a perceived lack of empathy 0r understanding about AS ...
these appalling views.
What exactly are these appalling views? I agree that anti-semtism is a contemporary, real, palpable issue that needs to be stamped out. But personally I struggle with the claim that "antisemtism is rife in the Labour party".
In typical white liberal fashion I can't claim I have witnessed it (outside of isolated incidents and overblown media narratives) but I agree I'm probably not in the best position to feel affected. This is about a much subtler subtext which can seem a little vague, and semantic. Not to say that less overt or extraverbial bigotry isn't appalling, but it's been clear that some of it is too nuanced and personal for many people to even perceive. I also feel that the Jewish communities have done a poor job at decoding and unpacking this for others.
recent comments on 'Zionists' not understanding English irony have come to light because they feel that he is an anti semite.
There is of course the prevelant broader narrative that you've been playing into your assertions around AZ being codified as AS. From my perspective (outside of the Jewish faith) there seems to also be pockets of incidents where this conflation is being made willfully by/or on behalf of the Jewish communities.
If the semantics have shifted and the consensus within Jewish communities is now that "Zionist" is percieved to be interchangeable with "Jew", then maybe the Jewish communities should let everybody else know what words are fine to use to discuss Israel and Zionism in meaningful terms.
