Happened just down the road from me at work. Apparently the bike had been hacked. Nice big can of worms opened up there, then.

I'm not commuting that way anymore so you have one less nodder to worry about :D

First time riding to new work, first time riding to work for 11 months. Realised as soon as I got out of the door that I'd forgotten my tube/repair stuff. Decided it would be ok as I've not had a flat on these new tyres and it would be pretty unlucky to get a flat on the first ride to work, it's only 6km after all. Get to work, all good. Get down to the basement after work and my tyre is flat. Thankfully they have a vending machine selling tubes and a workbench. Every cloud etc.

Bad for your back compared to what though? Maybe it's worse than panniers or maybe it strengthens your back (ask them for the research). Maybe it was crooked - I hate seeing people riding with backpacks sitting all piss.

my NDS (H2) pedal came off last night after all the threadlocker in the world couldn't keep it on the crank arm. Upside: my right leg is now HULK SMASH.
I got home to swap the crankset out, found that the 48t ring on the 6600 set had a seized bolt. SO... much cannibalising of bikes and bits to get a working commuter. It's still not right. This morning's ride felt like the brakes were on and I wanted to cycle to Brighton tomorrow and and ...blinks... Is this thing on? -

Yeah that was my first thought, what are the parameters that make it "bad"? Didn't feel like a discussion as usually when people shout stuff like that, they haven't done research.
I guess he meant well, but a bit weird.
Mine is straight as when it sits uneven it actually annoys me.

First wet commute in a long time this morning.
Cantis are still shite.

Nearly hit a woman undertaking me yesterday as I moved back towards the kerb from primary to let a cab past as the road narrowed. Can't assume there won't be an idiot on the wrong side of you these days.

Janky old commuter that spends its horrid life chained to a railing every night. Never cleaned. And parts only changed when when they fall off.
tl;dr
Sticky 'eryting. -

Spray entire bike with WD40. Solves every bike problem :)

Slowing down for a zebra crossing this morning. As i'm a couple of metres away and rolling to a stop I start to wobble to my right slightly. I hear a motorbike rev his engine right behind me, you know the drill when they are pissed or try to scare people who they believe are in their way. I know they've done it because i've moved to my right but there is no where to go and I'm ahead anyway.
Crossing clears and he buzzes past me shaking his head to make sure I can see his disapproval.
tl;dr
Mildly annoyed by a mildly annoyed motorbikerist. -

Not financially viable.
Sheep dip is probably more appropriate too. -

I had some cunt do that to me this morning but I was in the right of MY lane because I was passing a fucking parked van and he'd veered into my lane to rapidly pass a car on the inside.
Stupid motard was lucky I didn't catch him up at the lights and 'rev' my flaccid penis back and forth across his visor while singing Queen's 'I Want to Break Free'.

I found koolstop salmon helped my cantis braking power if that is the issue.
They are a bit of faff to get setup though...!
Very high brakes may work if you don't want to lose mudguards and just can't get on with the things. -

Testicular gesticulation.
EDIT: Say that fast 10 times.

High brakes or 'high' brakes?
-
• #24095
I ride a "cyclocross" route to work so no mudguards was just caught offguard the first brake this morning.
It's been a while.

If I ever see a man straddling a downed biker screaming this with his pants down I'll be sure give you wave.

my mate criticised my "hipster" messenger bag saying something about uneven weight distribution and how a proper back pack is much better for the shoulders. He's probably right I guess hmm

That would make the commute a lot more relaxed...but only for the 'high' ;)
I am not a native speaker, not sure what the correct term is. Some vbrakes have higher arms and are wider to offer mudguard clearance.
I dont wanna cycle in the gutter but some people see a 2 foot gap between me and the kerb as an open invitation to undertake.
