This is the older model, pre thruaxles. But exactly what you're looking at doing so seemed relevant.
All ran fine for over a year before I changed tyres out.

Not sure @spotter would agree with that unless I'm getting tyres mixed up.
It's been covered extensively in the tyres thread but as soon as you look at Compass tyres they p******e and they're meant to be tubeless but nobody can get them to work as tubeless. Plus they have no grip in the wet.

I'm not sure of relevance but I've managed to stuff 47c Horizons into a Cannondale Slate Apex (the one with the odd rigid Lefty) and enjoying it very much on road and, given how dry it's been, off-road.

I had zero flats using Compass tires and one with Gravelkings (4 different widths over 3 years). My roads are generally quite good without glass though. The gravel roads on the other hand.. My only flat was from carrying a rear rack on 28's.

You don't exist. You live in Jan Heine's brain.
They are actually ok tyres, they shouldn't be this expensive and the fact Jan sells them bothers me.

Lol you're right. My only gripe with them was that the sidewalls (tan) got quite dry quickly.
Been more than happy with gravelkings though. -

looks bang on. Thanks!

They were shit.
Really!? Have been thinking about getting those.. With Compass and slick gravelkings out of the question.. Are there any ±40mm slicks left as an option?

What happened to Grand Bois? I had a pair a few years back when it was basically one of the only quality 650B choice around and they were pretty good. In fact I replaced them with Compass and didn't see any improvement.
Soma also has a couple of options (Panaracer-made).EDIT: was it 650b or 700C you were after?

Good looking bike!
On tyre choice, anyone tried the Specialized Sawtooths? Haven't ridden the WTB Riddlers on the Arkose enough yet to warrant changing but can get a fair price for them.

Look great!

Do the Arkoses (Arkoi?) ever get discounted when the new season ones get introduced? Eyeing up something for winter duties maybe but given it's almost sale time I might wait.

Anyone got any pics of an Arkose with 40C nanos on? And the clearances thereof? (older model 15mm TA fork with post mount brakes)
EDIT: Basically I want to know if anyone's run guards and 40's on it. It's the 2015 Arkose 4 (red one)
