Talk to me about waterproof trousers, I got a very soggy crotch this morning!
Waterproof lining worked perfectly on the mesh jacket (although jacket itself was like a sponge), hands and feet also remained warm and dry so no issues there.
The antifog spray seeemed to give up and I couldn’t see a thing out of the visor by the time I arrived at work, Pinlock would solve that I assume?

My current favourite waterproofs are tucano urbano nano. If you're planning on riding all winter the all in one is a good option, saves getting water between the jacket and trousers. You will wear out the crutch in waterproofs eventually. If you want something that's fully waterproof but you can wear them all day then Rokker do some, nice but pricey.

I just use waterproof trousers from screwfix (ones with a reflective strip on legs) over leathers, work fine. Use a carrier bag over your boot when putting them on. Used rukka stuff in past instead of leathers very good but speedy

+1 on the Tucano bits, we do TU, Richa, and Rev'it rainwear bits at work and I reckon the TU ones offer best bang for buck

What are they like quality wise? Looking into new pads (discs in future) and I'm at a loss over what to get. I hated the last set of EBC's. Using Vesrah now, which wear out a bit quickly, but they have a lovely feel to them.

Thanks guys, I’m not sure about all winter but something cheap and cheerful should do it for now. Ideally small enough to fit under the seat, so that nano looks ideal.

They're really nice. I run their discs with Bendix pads (from PDQ Motorcycles) which are also excellent. All Bike Engineering (ABE) are metallurgy specialists, so you really do get the best. Pricewise, they cost me less than half of Honda's prices.

I have found EBC pads to be just awful on feel and feedback, and rattly too. Bendix or Carbon Lorraine are the only ones I will buy. I haven't tried EBC discs, but I don't intend to.

No rain Saturday or Sunday so things are looking good.

Pick it up at 8.15 on Saturday morning and immediately head up to Cambridge.

Careful on the new tyres. I'm picking up tank and panels from the painter, bank of carbs from the ultrasonicer and forks from the forker, bolting the old Z back together and pushing the button for the first time. Could be a can of worms or could be a joyous moment - might get a Duvel or 2 just in case.

Swapped out my pilot road 4s with the new tyres already so they've got 1k miles on...

I'm trading my current bike in so they'll flog it with the new set on.

It is no longer a grey area case law sorted it, as filtering is legal.

Insurance comapanies (even yours) don't seem to know this. Google puts up a few letters to write to explain, politely, to your (and the other parties) insurance comapny what they should do.

EBC aren't what they used to be I think. All the pads I've had from them have been aweful.

What bike have you got? I forget.

Avoid stealth discs or any disc makers in sheffield.

On your blade, have you tried the honda oe nissin pads?

Yes, but quite some time ago and they were pretty good. I've used Bendix for the last few years though, and they are excellent.

Personally not used bendix, but found the nissin branded pads, that only honda sold and cheaper than the same pads in a honda packet brilliant and cheaper than EBC.

Had bad experiences with EBC (both) carbon lorraine pads delaminating but found brembo pads great (expensive tho)

wonder how things will change with the banning of copper in pad material.

There was a place in hove I used to use. Bit far I think.

Its almost doesn't seem worth it for one rear.

I also need to sound out from Berwins whether they think brake rub will fail an MOT or be advisory.

Although I'd probably rather not have an advisory listed on my 1st MOT, especially when I'll be sorting it at some point soonish anyway.

Oh those prices, at a guess, are for a pair of floating discs.

Can ask Burwins tomorrow to confirm.

I've heard of Carbon Lorraines delaminating too, on Hayabusas and ZX12Rs, but I've only had good experiences with them, although I never tried them on my ZX12R for obvious reasons. I'm not surprised at Nissin though, they are very good.

Only problem with brake rub is it heats the disc/pads/pistons leading to the brake fluid heating up and expanding which then increases the chance of the disc warping but also gets worse until it starts slowing the bike down. At least that was what happened to me.
