  • I have a yellow filter and a Hoya 1B that came with my camera when I purchased it. Does anyone have any film specific resources on filter and lens hood usage? I am happy with using the two filterd I have, and I understand the purpose of other colored filters, but have less of an understanding around ND filters and exposure time. Will be trying my hand at some big landscapes in a couple of weeks and don't want to get it too wrong. I don't want to just take a guess on what I should be using and when... Everything I'm finding tends to be for digital...

  • You need to take account for recipricosity failure, some films suffer much more than others over long exposure times.

My thinking on film long exposures is that you can safely double your calculated exposure time .i.e. 1 stop over and get good results.
