How bad is the allergy? I heard people are allergic to certain cats, nothing to do with breed, hair or anything, just random. Even I get a bit allergic to Patch (please don’t tell her this) if I am stuck indoor with her for too long and if she keeps shredding hair...
I am not saying your other half should, but I also know people who get regular injection to counteract such allergy because they love their fur balls too much...???

its pretty bad with cats, although poodle dogs are ok as grown up with one - not sure i understand how that works!!

the kitten will get its revenge................

As far as I'm aware poodles don't shed so do not cause allergies to flair up, same with any poodle cross breeds like cockapoos etc.
sphynx cats? or just a huge stock of antihistamines?

Keeping the cats out of the bedroom will help loads.
That and hoovering up at least once a week should mitigate the worst of it.
This is what my Wife insisted on after our baby arrived and although I miss the cats curling up on me at night everybody gets a better fluff-free sleep.
Or just dump your partner. -

We found out after getting Ned that I was proper allergic. Sneezing loads and blistering if he clawed me.
Spent six-eight weeks on Loratadine and slowly eased off and it seems (touch wood) that the allergy has dulled to nothing. Had him almost 20 months and a few odd sneezes when he has shed a lot are all I suffer from.
I also suffer from hay fever and am allergic to fruit skin so I’m pretty weak sauce too, so if I can conquer it anyone can.

I couldn’t stand not touching a cat anymore, so I did something Patch will never forgive me... I had an affair with other cats... 🤭
@Rich_G, you might be interested, this is a workshop ran by a farmers couple who have dozens of cats on their farm and they also have a workshop in N.T that sells handmade soap using their own grown plants etc etc. Profits go straight back to looking after stray cats etc etc. I went and bought myself a load of soap as presents... don’t know if the soaps are any good yet but the intention is good enough for me to part with my cash!
And I got to touch 3 cats at once!!! I am happy!!!!

where I am staying doesn't have WiFi, and my data plan is running a bit low, but I shall upload more pics when I am back in London!
so - here is a turn up - how i ever managed to be attracted to someone who has an allergy to cats who knows - but c'est la vie............ what are the options if we start looking at buying/moving together and i want my dream setting of n+1 cats (3 would be nice) ..... (+ 2 dogs (optional) + goats + chickens)
i hear somewhere long haired cats are better for people with allergies?! nonsense?
