Hoping ped is OK, and shame on the rider for (allegedly) jumping the red, then failing to take responsibility for their actions. This won't end well for anyone.

That's a pretty expensive bike to abandon.

I wonder if this will prompt a crackdown on electric bikes.

People abandon cars in the same way, wouldn't surprise me if the rider does everything exactly as a driver would to avoid getting done.

Far fewer of them sold I'd guess so won't take too long to track down owner?

What most hit and run drivers do.

Then they'll ask for the report of the theft and it'll look a bit sus if they've not already done it.

Then they will have to explain why the speed restriction has been taken off.

(One of) the drivers that H&R me got done, so not everyone can pull that trick. Also they might end up finding CCTV footage of the rider that proves they were using it. The same CCTV footage they're never able to find when a cyclist gets hit but you know..

How do tracksuit-wearing yoof afford £3k of e-mtb? The one that blasted through the red past me the other day without a care in the world was having a great time on his clearly not 20mph bike.

Hope they catch the guy. Hope the lady recovers as cyclist bashing and police action against cyclists is their usual response.

I agree that whenever a cyclist gets hit and reports it no one cares about video footage. I'm speaking from experience.

Video online shows the crash, clearly not the cyclist's fault.
It's on the S*n's website, so not sharing the link, but it's all over twitter.

Will be interesting to see where this goes now.
