Out of curiosity did you ever find out what paint was underneath the wrap?
-
• #28
I haven't but you've reminded me to check and I'll update soon.
-
• #29
yeah interested to know if the wrap comes off clean and shows a proper Pegoretti paint job below...

The bike is a Pegoretti but it was not made by the late and very great Dario Pegoretti but his brother. He ran a project for local disaffected youth and this is one of the products. Underneath the wrap is a blank aluminium frame.

This bike is categorically not a Pegoretti.
-

It is your opinion but I do know you are wrong. Certainly not made by Dario but as I've explained earlier it is his brother's work.
-
• #34
Yes, I read the thread.
That makes it not a Pegoretti

“Made by brother”.... presuming his brother shared his last name?

I love this forum and the banter/exchanges. Very glad for you to give me a free bump. I've no further points to make in respect of your comments

This is a really silly argument.
If it was a Pegoretti it would be called a Pegoretti

Agree with Senor Bear here.
Pegoretti is usually understood to refer to Dario and his works. The bikes made by his brother Gianni and Gianni's partners are under the name DeAnima and are definitely not Pegoretti. Different builders, different designs and finishes. A DeAnima may not have any work by Gianni in it.
BTW There are two De Rosa framebuilders. Ugo and the other guy, the one with the wheel logo instead of a heart. And now Doriano has gone off and started Bixxis, politely not using the family name.

OK, I've changed description to show that this is clearly not a bike built by the late great Dario Pegoretti. Also reducing price so please take it off my hands as I don't want to have to store it for another winter.

Price drop for a Saturday bump
-
• #46
Snowy, winter weekend price drop to get my bump. I do need to move this on as I'd like to clear space in the NLL garage as have my eyes on something modern with EPS.

Thanks for the bump. You must be stalking me to know I sometimes profess my love of THFC.
I sat through one of the worst games ever on Saturday lunchtime. I did leave with a great admiration for Rafa Benitez as anyone who can get a side as poor as Newcastle to come within minutes of taking their tally of points against sides 2nd and 3rd in Premier League to 4 in the space of 4 days has to be close to being a footballing genius.
COYS!!!!
