He's involved in Clapton FC.

The fans set up Clapton CFC as a fan-owned alternative with a view to eventually being recognised as the actual Clapton FC and returning to play at the Old Spotted Dog.

A court case is currently in progress to try to stop McBean liquidating the 'charity' which he controls which owns the Old Spotted Dog ground.

Ah, gotcha. He's a crook, he got run out of Brixton in the early 90s when he tried to highjack an initiative that was being set up to provide sporting opportunities for kids.
