positions i've taken in this thread:
- racism and the use of racist slurs is bad without exception
- US imperialism has taken and ruined the lives of millions of people around the world and should be curtailed
- john mccain was not a good person
do you disagree with any of those things? if so then i'm sorry mate but i'm happy to leave you behind.
- racism and the use of racist slurs is bad without exception

Thanks for the invite, but I'm afraid I'm not going to play that game. Misrepresenting someone else's position in a debate has a long and ignoble history, but by the time you end up having to misrepresent your own position it's time to abandon ship with all hands.
Just in case you need a clue what I'm going on about, why don't you try my game? See if you can spot the odd one out:
- John McCain is 'an imperialistic racist who dedicated his entire career to fucking the poor'.
- 'the world would have been better off without John McCain'.
- 'john mccain was not a good person'
One of these things is not like the others. Can you tell which it is?
- John McCain is 'an imperialistic racist who dedicated his entire career to fucking the poor'.
I think it's always been very fashionable in the hard left ideology-driven world, where if you don't sign up to every aspect of the ideology in question you're a scum-sucking weasel splitter who the world would be better off without. After all, Monty Python were satirising that mindset nearly 40 years ago. It does seem to have spread though.
