Is that cunt Vincent McBean still involved at Clapton?
-
• #146430
He's involved in Clapton FC.
The fans set up Clapton CFC as a fan-owned alternative with a view to eventually being recognised as the actual Clapton FC and returning to play at the Old Spotted Dog.
A court case is currently in progress to try to stop McBean liquidating the 'charity' which he controls which owns the Old Spotted Dog ground.

Ah, gotcha. He's a crook, he got run out of Brixton in the early 90s when he tried to highjack an initiative that was being set up to provide sporting opportunities for kids.

It’s important to keep our fringe players happy, give them a runout and get them valuable experience. The way PL teams treat European football nowadays is a shame. Not just the EL but also the CL.
PL money is worth >£145m a season for a top 4 finish whereas the unwelcome distractions are worth €100m if they win the CL but it’s proven to be next to impossible for English teams to challenge for the PL and win the CL in the same season. EL winnings are miserable at best.

Aren't Chelsea big enough to be able to work on two fronts? Should that not be the goal of every team with Title aspirations? Does winning the Premier League now mean more than winning the Champions League or the Europa League?
-
• #146443
It always has.

serious question @jaw, @>>>>>> @WornCleat, how important is winning the Europa League for Chelsea this year?
Winning the PL must be top priority.
Top Four finish second priority
Europa League third priority
FA Cup fourth priority
League Cup fifth priorityThe first three bring with them CL qualification. That is the most important thing this year. How it comes is largely irrelevant except that in any knock out competition there is an element of uncertainty and so better to qualify through the league. Obviously it is better to qualify by winning the league.

Winning the CL is tops.
But it is always good to win the PL. Ask Liverpool supporters.
-
• #146446
The Europa is pretty much on a par with the FA Cup except that it gives automatic CL qualification.
-
• #146447
One should try and win every competition that one is in.

Considering we’re on a trophy a season that should be the objective. There are a dozen of teams challenging for 4 trophies so realistically you’re only going to win 1 so we’re meeting our objectives. Finishing top 4 still isn’t a trophy so it’s hard to qualify if this is considered a failure. Depends on your standpoint I guess.
Overall I’m happy with the direction of the club but we dod do with a director of football.

Newcastle aren't very good.

Trophies are important and we won one last year but if we don’t qualify for the CL next year we could start to lose players.
Donald Trump to unite North and South Korea, peace reigns, national service abolished, and Spurs win the league.
