Booked my accommodation while I was there last year.

Suggestions for accommodation?

I am asking friends in the area and I might be staying near Florence.

Me and the Mrs tend to go pretty lux, as we sort of treat it as our annual holiday. We've stayed at the Spaltenna in Gaiolie, which is superb, and at the Relais di Vignale (or similar) in Radda, which is also excellent.

For me, food and wine are probably greater passions than cycling, so I go full on in Tuscany. To that extent, I think Radda is a better bet that Gaiolie, and the roll down to the start is really no problem.

Last year, we decided to Air B'n'B an apartment, rather than stay in a hotel, and we really lucked out with a great apartment in the centre of Gaiolie, maybe 200 yards from the start. It was so perfect, we booked it for 2018 while we were there.

Having said all that, first time we went we stayed in a tiny apartment miles away, and still has a great time.

I have yet to have a bad experience in Tuscany.

I am thinking of putting a DA first gen on my Scapin and ride that one. Or the Marzano, but that will have to be shipped over...

They appear to have ditched the draw, you can just sign up, pay and enter.

If anybody is after a spot, my buddy has dropped out so is looking for someone to transfer his place?

I'm also not going anymore. Not sure how and if the transfer is possible, but my spot is available too

ART. 9 - SUBSTITUTIONS OR CANCELLATIONS
It is possible to request the substitution of a participant by 10 September 2018, if registration is in order. An administration fee of €10.00 will be charged for this service.

Understood that as 'you can swap your place (as long as its before the 10th)'

Cool. So if anyone wants my spot too (for example if they want to participate with a friend), mine's available. It's 70€ + 5€ fee (we split the fee) in my case.

If this is still available, I would like it for Mrs JJ.
