  • Why aren't the cranks reversed?

    The crank phase is normal, anything else would be unusual but not unheard of.

  • I think I have the answer (thanks to @ceramique) : the cranks are reversed to reduce bb twisting in the frame. In a "classic" tandem, first and second chains forces add up and impose a greater twist to the rear bb. On a Follis, both of chains pull the bb backward so there is no twist. @mdcc_tester
