• Thinking getting another new lens for my mirrorless camera for my trip to san fran.

initially I wanted to get the sigma 16mm 1.4 for extra wide and sharpe images, however, I feel that this might a little restricted and maybe the sony 18-105 f4 would be better comprise.

I have the 55mm 1.8 (which on the mirror camera with the crop factor comes to around 82mm) could do the trick. Thoughts?

  • Thoughts?

Generally I'm usually happy enough taking two lenses for a digital camera on holiday- a standard compact zoom for daylight, and then a fast prime for the night.
For me, I'd be looking at something like the Sony 35mm f1.8 to complement the kit zoom.

Depends what you want to photograph I guess ?

  • That sorta the the reason why I thought 16mm would be good. I love street and architectural photography. But maybe a wide prime would be a little too restricting. Might try this holiday with the zoom kit lens and my 55mm prime to see how well/bad this holiday snap will go.
