Wandering around Winchester with it today. Annoyingly just lost another fucking eyepiece- third so far.
Anyone know what glue will stick to silicone?

That looks fine to me. Do they shoot RAW and fit in a jersey pocket by any chance ?

Fits in a jersey pocket but no RAW. Pictures are no better than a decent mobile but it's way tougher.

Thinking getting another new lens for my mirrorless camera for my trip to san fran.
initially I wanted to get the sigma 16mm 1.4 for extra wide and sharpe images, however, I feel that this might a little restricted and maybe the sony 18-105 f4 would be better comprise.
I have the 55mm 1.8 (which on the mirror camera with the crop factor comes to around 82mm) could do the trick. Thoughts?

Ah, I just got one!
I'm going the minimalist route and will be trying one of these once my m-adaptor arrives.

Thoughts?
Generally I'm usually happy enough taking two lenses for a digital camera on holiday- a standard compact zoom for daylight, and then a fast prime for the night.
For me, I'd be looking at something like the Sony 35mm f1.8 to complement the kit zoom.Depends what you want to photograph I guess ?

That sorta the the reason why I thought 16mm would be good. I love street and architectural photography. But maybe a wide prime would be a little too restricting. Might try this holiday with the zoom kit lens and my 55mm prime to see how well/bad this holiday snap will go.

It just depends on what you're used to ? A kit zoom will cover the wide end during daylight, what's most important for you at night ? Get a fast prime to cover that focal length for night duties. If 16mm (for aps-c) works for you at night, get that ?
55mm on aps-c is probably tighter than what I'd like at night, but then I'm not you ! -

I never had the need for anything above 50mm (75mm equiv.) on my recent trips but always missed something wider than 23mm. Not often but still. 16-50mm would have been perfect

Agree 82mm is pretty tight, unless you're looking to shoot a lot of portraits I guess. I'd try to find a good prime between 35-50mm for street / portraits / general stuff, and possibly something wider as well for landscapes.

24/35/75 (16/23/50 in APS-C terms) is my travel kit when I have enough space (otherwise i just take a 35 fixed lens camera)

Idiotic "I don't know what I'm doing but I want professional quality photos ASAP" post incoming.
We've built a very basic photo studio in the new workshop. We've got white and black back drops, a nikon d90, amazon special flash set up, and have been using my prime 1.8 50mm lens. We've been able to get some good shots, especially detail, but are struggling to get the full 'side shot' without being totally out the door, or with distortion. Have had a fair amount of conflicting advice about what to do lens wise. Seb from klein got some good shots with his camera and a 24-70 2.8 zoom lens, but was full frame so I'm assuming we can't just buy a nikon equivalent and get the same shots. I've also been told that distortion is not a big deal and it can get sorted in light room, and also that it's a total pain. Any help greatly appreciated. Photo of studio so you can see what we are working in.

Cheapest option would be to get a 35mm f1.8 DX lens. They're cheap and perform really well optically. It should give you some more room to get closer to the bikes.

Thank you! Over a tamron or sigma etc 24-70 or 27-50 f2. 8 wide angle zoom? Willing to spend some money (up to 500 odd ebay prices second hand) if there is a lens that will be noticeably better.

You’d be welcome to my nikkor 17-55mm f2.8 that I never get around to putting on eBay. I’m not sure what they’re worth now, but does £400 sound reasonable? Would come in the box with the hood and a UV filter.

^ this would be a good option in my opinion.
I'd look at the waterproof/shockproof ones. Fine with being dropped and tend to have big buttons as they're designed to be used with gloves.
I have a Coolpix S32 (one for £25 here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nikon-Coolpix-S32/273390505021 ) which is nice enough for the price. Pictures aren't amazing but I'm not sure if a 4 year old will mind
