Mine is the mkii so no viewfinder, but one can be bought.
Seems pretty nice that old models are still available so you can get whichever in the range fits best. -

Camera friends, I've kind of given up on lugging 'proper' SLRs around and have fallen into just taking photos on my phone all the time. It's a good camera, but it's not great and I want something small that I won't think twice about throwing in a bag.
I'm thinking about a 2nd hand fuji x100s or similar for casual stuff (cycling, skiing, mountain walks, people etc). Budget is probably no more than £400 - is there anything else I should consider?
My only concern with the x100 is the fixed lens - I've done whole holidays with a 50mm perfectly happily but still slightly intimated by the idea of buying a camera with a single, fixed lens. -

Olympus e-m5/10 ? Roughly the same size as the Fuji. Should be able to pick one up secondhand+zoom+prime for <£400 on something like mpb.com

Just popped into my local camera shop and they had an HX90V which ticked all of the boxes for not much money, relatively speaking. It's tiny! So I bought it. If I'm not into it I'll move it on, but it ticks all the boxes for me so far.

Ricoh GR. But the best one you can afford.

nice suggestion.

I had a look at these - look great, but I guess my concern would be the extra weight (the body alone is near to 100g heavier than the x100 and then you add a lens..).
I'm going to admit that I'm drawn to the Fuji over a ricoh purely for aesthetic reasons (tart; confirmed).
Would I be mad to buy a plain x100 rather than the s? Seems like there is not a great deal of difference between the two, and a fairly significant price difference ( you can get a good condition x100 for £250 vs £400+)

Ricoh GRs are awesome - I bought one off here a while back. I can stick it in my jeans pocket or in the back of a cycling jersey and just not worry about it.
The optional wide angle lens is also a great addition. I spent about 100 quid total and it's probably my only camera I wouldn't sell!

do they have viewfinders? Kind of a must for me

e-m5 (sans lens) is 45g lighter than the x100s

weird - must have got models mixed up. A lens is going to be at least 300g though (just using the lower threshold of the dslr ballpark)

No integral viewfinder, I actually don't feel the need for one personally.
Ricoh make 2 types for them that slot into the hotshoe though - they look pretty cool!

I am thinking of selling my x100s to upgrade to a x100f, pm if you're interested?

I'm assembling a relatively small combo with the A6000 using a new Voigtlander Skopar 35mm f2.5 pancake II.
Waiting on the Yeenon adaptor at the moment. -

Disposables? Might work out a little expensive depending on how many photos they take but having them printed at somewhere like boots would be a good tactile way of them seeing the photos/storing them
My bet is it's a combination of the amazing light there and some lightroom preset.
