It does bug me a little - you can switch the rack 'arms' around (so right side to left side, and upside down) but that means that you dont have the stoppers the right way up to prevent a pannier slipping. Might try it again at some point with more inner tubes on them so that the bags have something to grip.

My girlfriend has the same bike/front rack combo.
I see you also couldn't get it level. Does this bug you? I was trying to think up a solution as it bugs me a bit!
