He confirmed that is reclaimed pine, in this case from an old wardrobe.
The woodworm were killed by drying and conditioning.

Thoughts on this.
Am undecided myself.

Steel/gold sub?

Would be better with a more neutral strap, the stitching is too much. I could see why somebody would love this but wouldn't wear it myself, I think.

No I agree, its not special enough.
May grow on me tho. -
• #29362
Yup.
The significance of the watches that made it into this box is that they are the watches that I actually wear.

These Tudors really confuse me. I should love it. It has qualities that I really like in a watch. However I really don't like it but I have never been able to figure out why.
I get a bit irritated trying to figure it out tbh.

I really like these but I couldn't get on with it when I tried it on.

Looks like a Swatch.

I didn't like it until I saw one in the flesh and then thought it was surprisingly nice. Looks a bit different to a lot that's out there.

Its difficult to explain but just not special enough.
It is however beautifully put together and they are a lot of watch for the money. -

The yellow accent is fun, it's a weekend wearer for sure. Three issues from a design perspective: The unbevelled, (almost) unbrushed case is just a bit too plain. There's just not enough depth to the design, you can see all the details in one glance and there doesn't seem to be anything in the design that warrants a longer gaze. Also the integrated end-links mean you're stuck with a Tudor strap and a small range of options if you get bored and want to switch things up a bit.
Basically it's an upmarket Braun watch. Everything works with that clean design but there's nothing to really fall in love with.

Lovely collection and a truly beautiful watch box

There is slow growth, 200 to 300 year old ancient forest pine and 10 to 20 year old modern pine.
Old furniture would be closer to the former.

You should get some brasso and clean the 0-20 minutes section of the bezel.
You definitely like dive watches!

I really like the North Flag (on a bracelet), it’s on my hit list but the blue Pelagos is contending. Can’t argue with the point about the lack of dynamic in the case but I also feel that’s what makes it unique. I love the dial, clarity is my number one criteria, I’ll own one at some point but whether it’s a keeper I don’t know.
Its a 1st gen Helson Shark Diver 45.
