135mm hubs in 126mm dropouts.

  • Bough some 135mm hub wheels thinking bike was 130mm and could squeeze them in unfortunately not . Is there any cold/hot setting method to fit these wheels in ?

  • What tubeset is the key ... some steel will work out ok, providing you can keep things aligned nicely. If heat-treated tubes, don’t do it. But as your frame is 126mm, chances are it’ll be 531 or even heavier duty stuff.

Or just get a 126 hub.

  • What the frame is made of will determine the answer to your question.

  • @freezing77 Gt Hybrid thing from 90s , basically a gt mountain bike frame

  • Fuck it, bend the shit out of it.

  • Followed your advice and with a lot of effort from my tiny arms it fits . Now to remove wheel and fit tyre ....

  • they're fairly chunky stays on that frame and it's welded so would def take a bit of manipulation. Seen the sheldon method? Aim 132ish and spring the rest and make sure you check the DOs afterwards for parralell. image of homemade tool for checking.

  • Bend all the things
