What tubeset is the key ... some steel will work out ok, providing you can keep things aligned nicely. If heat-treated tubes, don’t do it. But as your frame is 126mm, chances are it’ll be 531 or even heavier duty stuff.
Or just get a 126 hub.

Followed your advice and with a lot of effort from my tiny arms it fits . Now to remove wheel and fit tyre ....

they're fairly chunky stays on that frame and it's welded so would def take a bit of manipulation. Seen the sheldon method? Aim 132ish and spring the rest and make sure you check the DOs afterwards for parralell. image of homemade tool for checking.

Bend all the things
Bough some 135mm hub wheels thinking bike was 130mm and could squeeze them in unfortunately not . Is there any cold/hot setting method to fit these wheels in ?
