Thanks and you're right. I have zero toe overlap with the winter fork, framesize 54 and 25c tyres. Huge difference from my mash parallax (also 54) which is quite tight, and obviously even worse in smaller sizes.

I'm feeling the same way. My pre-cursa was supposed to be a stop-gap and I can't bring myself to get rid. Your bike looks great, are they gravelkings? What size?

26mm, the track fork is a little too tight to go for a 28mm tyres.

I ordered a 54cm ex-velodrome Pre Cursa, and the seat tube has a sticker that says "53". Anyone know if this implies the frame geometry is not identical to that of a "regular" 54 cm Pre Cursa frame? Or is that something entirely unrelated?

Could be a 54 frame that was fitted with a shorter stem to emulate a '53'.

I have an XL Pre Cursa in the loft with Cube alloy disc forks on the front. Rides very well. No damage, but few stickers. Anyone interested?

Anyone got a Pre-Cursa grass track fork that they'd trade for a wing tt? I'll measure the steerer i need tomorrow and post some photos, but i really want to build a tracklocross, and the wing tt fork would stop me from doing so.

Hi all!
First of all, sorry for my approximate English... I am from France. I've been reading quite a lot on this forum about the Pre Cursa and would like your expert community to give me some recommendation.
I currently own an 8Bar Fhain V3, size XS. I must admit that I am looking at the PC model as they are having a 45 cm which would allow more seatpost length, which I find nicer.
But I am wondering whether I should consider changing or not. Is the PC a better frame than the Fhain V3? Quality, behaviour, wise. Also, I am scared of getting toe overlap (which I don't have on my 8Bar) in such small frame.Any advice, lessons learned or feedback would be really appreciated.
Thanks!!

Could be a bike id number.
Glasgow's bike no53 is a 54cm.

You will get toe overlap on the pre-cursa if you buy it with an Alpina track fork, and with the smaller sizes the overlap increases as far as I'm aware. I'd say the pre-cursa is better than the fhain but that's just my own opinion. See if someone in your local fixed gear groups owns a pre-cursa and if you could try it out.

A friend has a similar Fhain V2 and IMO it's a nicer frame than the Pre Cursa. There is probably not much difference (in terms of durability, quality of workmanship or ride quality) between the two frames, but the 8Bar looks more elegant and understated (with constant diameter tubes and no big logos).
Maybe try to measure the minimum gap you can achieve between shoe and tyre with your existing bike. I can't find stack/reach values for the geometry of the 8Bar, but (in size S; smallest size on geo. chart) its effective top tube length is 32mm shorter than the 8Bar, and the Alpina track fork has less offset than either fork available with the Fhain, so if the current shoe-tyre gap is around 20mm or less, you could encounter some difficulty.
Have you considered the 50cm Pre Cursa? It has the same (+/- 5mm) length top tube as your current frame(*), but its seat tube is 2cm shorter.
Your English is great, by the way!*I can't find geo. for Fhain size 'XS'; 'S' being the smallest size on the chart.

Hi Lukas,
Thanks a lot for your honest and detailed answer, really appreciate!
You could not find my current bike geometry simply maybe because you looked at the Fhain V2 model. I have the Fhain V3 and you can find the geo for the XS size on this page: https://8bar-bikes.com/shop/bikes/fixed-gear-singlespeed/fhain-urban-fixie/fhain-comp-fixie/new-fhain-v3-urban-bull-comp/
I've measured less than 10mm gap between my shoe and the tyre when turning. That's super mega tight but I do no have any overlap at least :) -

Update on that wing tt that I'd trade for a dolan grass track fork, it has 266mm of steerer :)

toe overlap on the pre curse isn't sufficient enough to cause any concerns unless you plan on bar spinning instead of riding.
It does not affect whip skidding or track standing or riding so who cares. LOL

I get it with small children and jerkily moving their wheel back and forwards but not sure how easy it is for an adult to do that when even subconsciously riding.

Any chance said TC1 had a set of omniums and FSA finishing kit? haha
contact Dolan they have been really good on answering queries for me in the past. Winter fork looks good as it offers less possibility for toe overlap unlike the track forks
