  • What are the differences between sks longboards, bluemels and chromoplastics? I'm liking the look of the bluemels in the reflective version.

They're going on a pompino if that makes any difference or anyone has any suggestions

  • I'm just about to replace my Chromoplastics with Longboards. The C's have served me well but only after I fashioned my own mudflaps to be quite a bit longer than the standard ones, which particularly left my feet prone to getting wet when there is lots of surface water, hopefully something which the Longboards will deal with better. Not used Bluemels but looking at them I reckon the Longboards will give better coverage.

  • I wasn't very lucky with my front Longboard. It picks up a lot of surface water and accelerates it
up the mudguard where it comes out the sides just at the right height to deposit it on your feet.
Keeps the underside of the frame clean though.
It's also pretty wobbly at the bottom and mine eventually snapped off. I attached a large
mudflap and it deflects the water much closer to the ground so it never reaches my feet.

  • They do, I ordered both and compared. The difference is mostly on the front one. In terms of coverage it goes something like:

    Chromoplastics: useless
    Bluemels: good
    Longboards: best

But Bluemels have that fancy matte finish which does look nice.
