Hey Melbourne folks, come along to this ride. It's protesting Victoria's shitty bike helmet laws. Last year's ride was just great.

Random question. I'm from London, in Sydney at the moment. Need to quickly sell a H+Son/ Goldtech track wheelset i have with me. What's my best bet/ any pointers?
-
• #54
Facebook groups such as bicycle market and bicycle market australia might be your best bet.

Any advice for 5 days in Sydney?

Aside from a trip to Melbs? #trollface
Manly ferry's nice and Shelly beach is good. Frankie's pizza by the slice is delicious. Baxter's for fancy boozes. Riding a bike in town is shithouse, even by Australia's low standards. I'd also avoid Bondi, other than to tick it off a list. Coogee is much nicer.

If any forumers are around! -

Am in Melbourne for Sat/ Sun this weekend if anyone's around that part?

What are you up to? Got a pretty packed weekend but might be able to grab a beer or coffee?

I’m out in the sticks this weekend. Looks like it’ll be a bit damp, though.

Just sight-seeing, have a friend to see for dinner and maybe catch a fringe show, otherwise free. No bike sadly.
It’s super last minute but needed some time out of the water having spent the past 18days straight surfign! -

Going to Melbourne in early December. What to do/see? Is there enough stuff to keep me and the missus entertained for two weeks or should we go see other places as well? We should probably go see the Great Barrier Reef before it dies...
-
• #68
Closer options than the reef are the Great Ocean Road, the Otway and maybe the Grampians.
There's also smaller towns in reach via train, like daylesford.
I would always recommend at least one good road trip to anyone visiting Oz, just to get a sense of how the distances etc work here.

Getting a car?

Good day trips include; Mount Donna Buang, Gippsland in general, Mount Macedon, the GOR as mentioned above. Healesville and the Yarra Valley are amazing for wine within good close distance of Melbourne.

• #72
Yeah. £150 for two weeks with unlimited mileage seems like a fair deal.
-
• #73
Lovely offer, but I'm not sure my other half is up for it.
-
• #74
Thanks, I'll take a closer look at those

Word. If you're into beers and fancy it we can maybe squeeze in a LFGSS nerd meet-up. I'm overdue a catch up with @andy_k
No worries and thanks! We've been here 10 days or so, moving to a place in Northcote for a month at the weekend. Will drop you a PM shortly, seem to be running into a bit of a "temp to perm" block at the moment but no doubt something will come up.
Ended up dragging the dlock and suit over just in case. Been gazing wistfully at bikes since I arrived, dipping into your thread just now has not helped! That winter(?) Keppel hut trip looks fucking ace!
