Yeah a decent reply. It is StageCoachBus which runs the local Park and Ride. I am guessing the CCTV is pretty damning to have such a strong reply like that, and their description of it was exactly how I described it to them.
Gonna send them a thank you and stress how I just want their drivers to be safe around cyclists.
Not a bad response:
Dear Mr Cole,
Thank you for your email of the 17th August 2018 regarding an incident involving one of our vehicles. I was deeply concerned and disappointed to read that the driver of the bus pictured passed you dangerously close before immediately turning left towards our depot.
Firstly may I also thank you for attaching an image of the vehicle involved, this has allowed me to get the CCTV of the bus quicker, view the footage and identify the driver.
I can see from the forward facing camera that you join Gloucester Road from the train station by the crossing and proceed towards the mini roundabout on the nearside. As our bus approaches, our driver is already indicating left and passes you with a gap which was certainly less than what is required. This is then made worse by the immediate left turn which leaves you with nowhere to go due to the close proximity to the rear nearside of our bus.
The footage does show you attempting to discuss this matter with our driver on more than occasion. Unfortunately, on both occasions this is met with an attitude which does not show any remorse. I would agree with you that you were certainly not aggressive or rude towards our driver. There is no excuse for this type of driving from any of our employees, this was dangerous. As you state in your email, we have a huge duty of care to all other road users including cyclists. This is a matter that I will be taking seriously and I will be speaking to the driver of this vehicle as a matter of urgency.
Please accept my apologies for any distress caused and thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
