  • #I'll buy the seatpost if you want to sell that. I have a KG221 that needs it.

  • If someone wants to buy the frame set without seatpost then I will be happy to sell it to you, otherwise I prefer not to sell the seatpost by itself.

  • Hi, I currently have my own KG 281 that I’m trying to convert to fixed gear. How did you go about finding a fixed gear wheel that’d fit in the rear dropouts? I know most fixed gear hubs are around 120mm and the KG is around 146mm.
    Thanks!

  • I measured it from dropout to dropout and got 5.75 inches, and essentially 146mm. Whats yours?
In terms of the wheel, I’m thinking that I’ll have to buy a regular fixed gear wheel and convert it to fit my dropouts. I suppose my question is: how did you go about doing that?

  • He didn't. There's no road bike with dropouts that wide. Even the latest stuff is 142x12 and that's thru axle. Anything from that era will either be 126OLD or 130mm.

You measuring from the inner face of the drop outs? If you are and 146mm is the result, then something is wrong.

  • Ok yes, thanks. Measured from the inside of the dropouts it comes to 130.175 mm. Sound right?
If so, should I be looking for fixie wheels that are 130mm?
Thank you all for the info!

  • Doesn’t sound right but thinking about getting the width in the rear down to 120mm, could you bolt the dropouts on the inside of the glued in dropouts?
Looking at the original photos it looks like the rear wheel is a converted road wheel... this has vertical dropouts so not ideal for fixed anyway... I guess as the dropouts are adjustable that could be ok - having had a few old carbon frames I’m not sure I’d want to ride a noodly old bonded carbon frame fixed...

Stick a road wheel in with a cassette and run it single speed?

  • Could I use this to convert a 120mm wheel to 130mm? It’s hard to find a 130mm wheel online and I know nothing about building wheels.

  • I've got a ton of 130mm spaced fixed wheels, do you want a practical one or a fancy one? Pm me
