Maybe they're just objecting to Jack Whitehall, who is a cunt and wouldn't bring value or respect to any role, including a Jack Whitehall biography.
I could cope with him starring in a Jack Whitehall biography if it wasn't going to be shown until he was dead, if they were going to show it next week.

I think the main difference is that there are plenty of gay actors around.
If Thor was amongst us and available for casting, he may well have been the best man for the role.
